Let’s talk about the power of intention. Remember this always:
All day you are intending, and what you intend you create.
What is inside of you, is what manifests outside of you.
Your thoughts create your world.
Did you know that the average person has 66,000 thoughts per day, and that ninety percent of today’s thoughts are the same as those of yesterday, regardless of our changing conditions? If we want things to change in our lives, we cannot expect to keep holding the same thoughts within, at the same time expecting change without.
The first step is to ask this: “What is my intention, or in simpler terms, what do I want?” So many of us are more in tune with what “others” want for us than what we want for ourselves. If it is peace & harmony that you want in your life, are you holding thoughts of peace and harmony throughout the day, or are you holding thoughts of how you wish your life would be rid of conflict or that this or that person were no longer in your life to cause you trouble? Whatever you are focusing on, you are attracting.
Is it wealth that you want? Are you holding thoughts and feelings of wealth, or are you thinking more of the bills that still need to be paid? Every thought you think either empowers you, or it disempowers you. Every thought you think either takes you toward your goal, or takes you away from your goal.
Here is something that will help remind you of the power of Focus--the Tea Kettle Theory. If you plug in a tea kettle for 20 seconds, then unplug it, and a half hour later plug it in for another 20 seconds, and do this continuously throughout the day, you will never boil water. This is what happens when we allow our mind to waiver from positive to negative thoughts (eg. I want this, no I want that, but oh I probably can’t have it). The Universe doesn't know what to give us. So the key is to take a thought of something we want to create and hold onto that thought, like plugging in a tea kettle until the water boils. What we hold our thoughts on, will manifest before our eyes! It is Universal Law!
All of the worthwhile intentions and good habits you have set out to accomplish this year can be yours…it’s up to you…it’s all in your mind. Best wishes for a happy, peaceful and prosperous life.
