The Art of Healing - a look inside
"What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are small matters compared to what lies within us" - Oliver Wendell Holmes
A spa getaway today offers so many activities it is hard to chose just
one. Depending on the season and the spa, activities can range from swimming, canoeing, horseback riding,
golf, cross-country skiing, and of course the healing art of meditation. The ideal spa retreat will always include time
to relax, reflect and restore through various traditional spa treatments and techniques.
Studies now prove that continuous daily stress impairs the
immune, blood and nervous systems; hinders our concentration
and can cause health problems including depression. Meditation is effective in mobilizing our inner resources
for relaxing, coping and healing. It may be the best investment
you will make in your mental, emotional and physical well
being. A great place to learn to mediate is at the spa. It will benefit the body, mind and soul while adding to whole spa retreat experience.
One of the simplest ways to begin meditating is just to be aware of your breathing. Find a quiet place, close your eyes for a few moments and gently begin to breathe slowly in and out. Feel the stress and tension melt away as you inhale and exhale.
