When planning a spa massage or body treatment first time spa-goers have many questions regarding spa nudity.

They are often intimidated and reluctant to even book a spa treatment because they feel uncomfortable about nudity in front of a spa therapist. Rest assured, the spa therapist is always conscious to provide a sense of security and privacy for the client during treatment. If at any time the spa-goer feels uncomfortable they are encouraged to voice their concerns.

Spa Nudity

North America spas employ a technique called “draping” in order to protect the modesty and privacy of the spa goer. The body is covered with a sheet while the therapist massages the back, or one arm, or one leg, while the whole body remains under the sheet. When it’s time to turn over, the therapist holds up the sheet up and looks away as the client feels secure and modesty is respected. During massage therapy private body parts are never exposed. If the buttocks area is to be treated it can be massaged through a sheet if preferred. The only part of the body that is exposed is the part the therapist is working on. If in any doubt, ask for a consultation prior to treatment and appointment. The spa will always take the time to advise on their spa nudity/draping protocols.

General Guidelines Spa Nudity Protocols:

Body treatments takes place in one of our private rooms. After a brief assessment, the spa therapist will give the client an overview of which areas of the body require therapy and which articles of clothing should be removed to provide treatment. At this point the client will be given about five minutes to change and lie underneath the top sheet and blanket of the massage table. Again, full privacy and professionalism is assured. When assured that the client is ready, and the treatment will begin. The only body part exposed during the massage is the area being treated. The rest of the body is comfortably covered by the sheet and blanket.

Treatment is best performed without the restriction of clothing, although, the client’s comfort is the main concern. If the client feels uncomfortable with the removal of any article of clothing they are encouraged to voice their concern and we will work with the situation, (the client is never expected to remove their lower undergarments, as it is not necessary in order to perform any of our treatments).
