Sometimes called reflex zone therapy, Reflexology involves the massage of certain pressure points on the feet and sometimes the hands.

The Reflexologist believes that these points correspond to zones in the body. Massaging these areas can relieve stress and even prevent or treat disease.

According to Jane Downes, Reflexology can work to balance the bodies chakras. She says “There are seven major chakras all of which have a relationship to one of the various glands of the body’s endocrine system. They are positioned along the spinal cord (branching from nerve roots to endocrine glands or organs). Therefore by balancing the chakras through Reflexology it can help balance the endocrine and nervous system.”

Two great tips to reduce stress suggests clasping your fingers together with a golf ball between your hands.  As you gently roll and squeeze the ball it massages the pads of your hands. For an instant massage, place a golf ball beneath your feet and roll the ball back and forth. The Vagus nerve, situated between the big toe and the second toe, benefits from this stimulating massage.
