The Andrea Olivera Centre for Ayurveda (AOCA) has revolutionized the face of the Canadian Spa Industry through integrating ancient Vedic principles of spirituality, psychology and healing with luxuriously customized spa treatments.
AOCA is an internationally recognized school that has trained and certified countless estheticians and massage therapists in the renowned Ayurvedic Spa Specialist Program.
As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Andrea has studied extensively in India. She was first introduced to Ayurveda eleven years ago by Dr. Upadiya, International Himalayan Hospital, in Haridwar India. There she was trained in Shirodhara and became familiar with Pancha Karma. These studies were furthered in Vrindavana, India, Lord Krsna's birthplace, with Dr. Gupta, Ayurvedic doctor and Pancha Karma specialist. This involved case studies, offering Ayurvedic consultations, assessments and treatments, for ashram residents. Additionally, devotional service for the community was practiced, through the Food for Life program, feeding thousands of the poor each day.
Andrea Olivera is a well recognized name in the Spa Industry. For over a decade, she has created signature treatments and educational programs for successful spas and Trade schools such as Aveda Institute, George Brown College, Seneca College, and Humber College. For over nine years, Andrea was a consultant and educator with the College for Aveda -a global leader in the manufacturing of environmental lifestyle products, where she created some of the most innovative esthetic beauty treatments available in the Aveda/Civello Spa network. Andrea has organized and led technical demonstrations and motivational workshops as an Aveda Purefessional. She appeared alongside Helga Hefner in the Aveda's International Congress Festival. Andrea also has an excellent reputation among visiting celebrities. She has treated numerous stars, including Duran Duran, Helena Christensen, Tom Selleck, Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg, Rahul Khanna, and director, Deepa Mehta.
In a consulting capacity, AOCA has worked with numerous clients including Civello Salon/Spas, St.Anne's Country Inn and Spa (Colberg),Ben Miller Inn (Godrich County), The Cornorstone Spa (Clinton), Rosa's Day Spa( Stoney Creek),Dharma Studios(Calgary), Aveda Maritime (Halifax), Manhattan Club (New York) and several day spas and salons across Canada. In the last few years Andrea has organized several Ayurveda Expos and festivals bringing the Ayurveda and Yoga community together and raising the awareness of Ayurveda in the Media.
As more and more Canadians turn to the wisdom of the East, there has been an increased interest and demand for integrating Ayurveda into mainstream spa and massage services. Consequently, AOCA has expanded its training services into Alberta, the Maritimes, and Victoria Island.
Having come from a lineage of medicine women and diviners, Andrea grew up with a very deep connection to the earth and its message. She began her official journey under the apprenticeship of several well known estheticians and spiritual healers. With a passion, she pursued her interests in ancient healing techniques of the Japanese, Chinese and Egyptians. Searching the world for teachers she lived in Ashrams and Temples studying sacred scriptures, the mysteries of the human energy field and the power of the mind. In her search for the Divine, she met with the profound wisdom of Ayurveda and integrated it into everything that she does. During this spiritual quest, Andrea learned that dwelling in the Self, discovering the Self, and realizing the Self was the key to true Beauty.
More recently, AOCA is proud to announce the development and launch of its own Ayurveda skincare line, Rituals for Rejuvenation. In this unique blend of products, Andrea has formulated her timeless, sophisticated anti-aging formulas with natural aphrodisiac herbs and romantic essences from around the world. Rituals for Rejuvenation has been masterfully created from Ayurvedic botanicals ,exotic fruits and spices and precious essences according to age old healing traditions. This Ayurveda Skincare line is nourishing, restorative, blissful and the cornerstone of all healing traditions.
In Ayurveda each person is treated according to their unique body type. The three Ayurvedic dosha's are: (1) Vata, composed of Air and Space, (2) Pitta, composed of Fire and Water and (3) Kapha, composed of Water and Earth. Healing herbs and oils are traditionally formulated according to body type and current condition. Certain botanical combinations are beneficial to all body types and most conditions. They are called Tri-Doshic which means beneficial to all doshas.
All of the formulations that make up Rituals for Rejuvenation are Tri-Doshic and can be effectively used to nourish, balance, and restore oily, dry and mature skin. While spanning the world for the ingredients that would make up Rituals for Rejuvenation, Andrea was inspired by fond memories of her great grand mother in South America. She can vividly recall her grandma sitting in the garden planting roses and jasmines, while explaining how all flowers communicate to one another through the language of scent. This language of scent is one that every individual human being understands at a very deep level. Andrea recalls "I can still remember grandma arranging the flowers and winking at me while explaining how the gardenias and magnolias were very friendly together." As an aromatherapist, Andrea understands the meaning and healing potential of this language of scent.
Her famous perfume, Krsna, is the most Famous of the Vedic Deities and means “the all-attractive one.” This scent of Love, is created to inspire the journey towards the sacred union with our Beloved within our Hearts. This union between Spirit and Body creates the most blissful and reciprocal relationship. The art of focusing one's attention within our hearts and discovering the inner relationship between Spirit and Body immediately results in universal love, unity and tranquility Then one can satisfy the propensity for loving others by directing their love towards this union. Rejuvenation begins in this state of love and bliss.

In her practice, Andrea creates hundreds of scents each customized for her individual clients as she works with them to find their "key to bliss". Creating signature scents to invoke the memory of the eternal and internal relationship with the Self, keeps us focused on our most profound affirmation to the Self, that of health, wealth ,and beauty.
